Carl “Corky” Nilsson Powell, 59

Carl “Corky” Nilsson Powell, 59, of Lahaina, passed away on Oct. 2, 2015 at Maui Memorial Medical Center.

He was born on April 12, 1956 in Long Beach, California. The youngest of two children, Corky was a talented chef, musician and contractor.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved the beach and gardening. Corky always had a smile on his face, and was a friend to all he met.

A celebration of his life was held on Dec. 6 in Lahaina at Upper Wahikuli Wayside Park.

Corky was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Eileen, and his nephew, Craig. He is survived by his daughter, Heather; sons Ian and Jordan; grandchildren Ally, Trinity and Micah; his sister, Carol Ann; his niece, Andrea; and nephews Ryan and Nick.
