Kaanapali resident Richard Armijo (pictured) shot a 34-35—69 at the Royal Kaanapali Golf Course to win the Men’s B Flight division of the recent BMW Ultimate Golf Challenge. The event was a qualifier for the BMW U.S. Finals at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina. Marc Okamura earned the second B Flight spot, with Gary Oda and Mel Komatsu earning the A Flight slots. Lily Yao and Bev Kim were the women’s qualifiers.

Krumpe to discuss Vedic science

LAHAINA – Ken Krumpe, an expert in Vedic science, will speak at Lahaina’s Waiola Church on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 1 to 5 p.m. in Keopuolani Hall.

In addition to herbal remedies, he will explain how to use traditional methods of India’s Vedic science to improve health and well-being.

State House health panel to meet on Maui

KAHULUI – The State House Health Committee will meet on Monday, Nov. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Maui Waena Middle School cafetorium at 795 Onehee St. in Kahului.

The committee is coming to Maui to take public comments on financial issues at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
