Mayor Alan Arakawa said there has been an “outpouring of support” for the plane crash victims’ families, but no mechanism to direct financial support to them.

WAILUKU – A “Maui County Remembers” memorial fund has been established by Pulama Lanai to provide financial assistance to the families of those who perished or were injured in the Lanai plane crash on Feb. 26, 2014. All funds will be allocated to assist the crash victims and their families.

“Our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones and those who were injured in this tragic accident,” said Kurt Matsumoto, chief operating officer of Pulama Lanai.

“This fund was created to aid the victims and their families during this difficult time of recovery and healing.”

Donations are accepted at any Bank of Hawaii branch; checks should be made payable to “Maui County Remembers.” Online donations may be made through May 31 with any major credit card or PayPal at www.MauiCountyRemembers.org.
