Lahainaluna High School to hold Open House
LAHAINA – Parents of currently enrolled students at Lahainaluna High School are encouraged to participate in an Open House on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m.
The informational evening will be held in Hale Pa’ina, the school cafeteria.
Attendees will have six 10-minute sessions to select at their leisure.
Representatives from curriculum departments and career pathways will be present to share information about their course offerings.
Also scheduled will be information on a number of new courses being offered next year, including Lahainaluna High School’s Academy of Network Engineering and Cybersecurity.
In partnership with the National Academy Foundation and University of Hawaii Maui College, this new academy will be offering fresh and exciting courses for students in operating systems; computer hardware, networks, electronics, math and security; and systems administration.
This new academy will also participate in national CyberPatriot competitions.
The focus of the short evening is to provide information on course offerings and expectations.
Parents who wish to discuss a child’s progress need to arrange a teacher conference through the student’s respective grade level counselor.
Copies of mid-second quarter progress reports are scheduled to be distributed toward the end of the evening.
