Sunday lunch highlights Libyan culture
KAHULUI – A Kahului resident will share the culture of his homeland, Libya, on Sunday, July 15, at a five-course lunch featuring a whole roasted lamb.
Bejo Elburki – who was featured in The Maui News on Oct. 21, 2011, after the late Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi fell – will offer the meal at noon at Hawaiian Canoe Club at Hoaloha Park.
The menu will include lamb, Mediterranean fried rice, a fava bean vegetarian dish, Greek salad with cucumber yogurt and a Libyan dessert.
Cost is $40 per person or $60 for two. Reservations are not required but are requested by Elburki at 633-0250.
