UHMC offers new Hawaiian studies degree
KAHULUI – Starting this fall, county residents will be able to pursue an associate in arts degree in Hawaiian studies at the University of Hawaii Maui College.
“This degree has been long-awaited by Maui County residents,” said UHMC instructor Kaleikoa Ka’eo. “But it will benefit all students seeking a deeper understanding of Native Hawaiian culture and history, and is a pathway to any four-year degree.”
Students who graduate from the program may pursue a baccalaureate degree in Hawaiian studies at U.H. Manoa or Hilo.
