Companies fund port-a-potties at Honolua Bay
HONOLUA – Tamara Paltin, president of the Save Honolua Coalition, reported that the 501(c)(3) nonprofit has been awarded a $5,000 grant from Patagonia to continue funding port-a-potties at Honolua Bay for the next ten months.
“The port-a-potties help to keep this Marine Life Conservation District free from human waste and help to achieve our mission: Maintain open space, public access and revitalize the health of the Honolua Ahupua’a utilizing Hawaiian practices and values,” she noted.
The coalition also received a $500 donation from Silverscreen Alta Productions Inc. to pay for April’s port-a-potty services.
The Save Honolua Coalition is currently raising money for land acquisition at Honolua as well as management. Tax-deductible donations can be sent to P.O. Box 11904, Lahaina, HI 96761.
