Tom Rosenquist Legacy Golf Tournament slated

By Staff | Apr 19, 2012

NAPILI – Maui Preparatory Academy announced that its third annual Tom Rosenquist Legacy Golf Tournament (a.k.a. “The TOM”) will be held on Sunday, April 29, at the Bay Golf Course in Kapalua.

Rosenquist, a founder and passionate supporter of Maui Prep and an avid golfer, passed away in September 2009. The tournament is one way that the school honors his legacy every year.

The cost for entry is $195 per player or $780 for a foursome, and $250 and $350 to sponsor a hole, with all proceeds going to benefit the students of Maui Prep. Last year’s event raised over $58,000.

Registration and catered lunch donated by Cilantro’s Mexican Grill start at 11:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. for this scramble format event. An awards cocktail party and auction immediately follow play at The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua, featuring food donated by Roy’s Kaanapali, Pineapple Grill, The Plantation House, Sansei and Ritz-Carlton.

Adding to the fun will be five hole-in-one contests to win a car, sponsored by Jim Falk’s Valley Isle Motors, and tournament caps donated by Honolua Surf Company. Prizes for all participants include restaurant certificates, overnight stays, golf on all islands and the Mainland, and golf products. Contact Cathi Minami at 665-9966 or cminami@mauiprep.org.
