Women’s support group to meet
LAHAINA – Women Helping Women in Lahaina is continuing its new “talk story” women’s support group called “Freedom to Breathe.”
The second, five-week series begins on Monday, April 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will continue each Monday through May 14, 2012.
Knowing that women have the wisdom of personal experience to share, group discussions and activities facilitated by advocate Jeanne Reynolds will explore topics associated with the effects of domestic violence, healthy relationships and families, life challenges, creating a safe home environment and self care.
Reynolds uses a “talk story” format with creative activities that include various modes of expression, movement and reflective time to allow each woman’s personal inner strength to unfold in a natural way.
The meetings are open to women affected by intimate partner violence, now or in the past, who have questions, unresolved feelings and experiences that they want to explore and share.
Register by Monday, April 9, by calling Reynolds at 661-7111.
