UHMC nursing students to offer free health screenings

KAHULUI – University of Hawaii Maui College first-year, first semester nursing students will conduct free health screenings for cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure at the Maui Swap Meet in Kahului on Saturday, March 3, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

They will also provide information on various health concerns, such as Hyperlipidemia, Diabetes Mellitus, hypertension, nutrition, smoking cessation, Rat Lung Disease, home safety, heart disease, child immunization and obesity, adult obesity, domestic violence, substance abuse, fall prevention and emergency preparedness.

The goal for the UHMC nursing students is to promote health, increase awareness and motivate action by educating the people throughout the community.
