LAHAINA – The Maui County Police Department has scheduled a new series of Town Hall meetings.

MPD Chief Gary Yabuta initiated the series to bring the department closer to the communities it serves.

Residents of each district are encouraged to come meet the chief, along with members of his command staff and commanders and officers serving each district.

Attendees are asked to bring questions and concerns. Police will also discuss new programs.

The meetings are slated for 6 p.m. at Wailuku Community Center on Thursday, Jan. 12; Lahaina Civic Center on Tuesday, Jan. 17; Kihei Community Center on Tuesday, Jan. 31; and Pukalani Community Center on Thursday, Feb. 2.
