Phowa Master to lead classes

PAIA – The Maui Dharma Center announced the upcoming visit of Tibetan Buddhist Phowa Master Choeje Ayang Rinpoche.
His Eminence Ayang Rinpoche has been recognized as the greatest living Phowa Master by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, His Holiness the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa and other renowned Tibetan Buddhist spiritual masters.
During his U.S. tour, Rinpoche will lead classes at the Maui Dharma Center, 81 Baldwin Avenue, from Nov. 24-26.
Each year, Rinpoche teaches a Phowa course to hundreds and thousands of people in Bodhgaya, India. Phowa is the transference of consciousness at the time of death.
The teaching schedule is: Nov. 24, “Facing Death With Confidence,” 6:30 to 9 p.m., $20 suggested donation; Nov. 25, “The Buddha Amitabha Empowerment,” 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., $45 suggested donation; Nov. 26, “Buddha Amitabha Meditation Teachings,” 9 a.m. to noon, $30 suggested donation; and Nov. 26, “Buddha Amitabha Practice,” 3 to 5 p.m., $30 suggested donation.
