Lahaina Intermediate School’s Renaissance Partners in Living and Learning first quarter reward day, “Wet and Wild,” was held on campus last week Friday. Some 255 students qualified by way of grades, citizenship and community service, reported Counselor Todd Hayase, the event’s organizer. The students enjoyed water slides, burgers, salad, shave ice and much more. Hayase thanked event committee members Becky Altier, Cindy Koyama, Lori Koyama, Darryl Munetake, Tom Norton, Beth Fobbe-Wills, U‘i Kua‘ana, Charmaine Ganer and the entire LIS cafeteria staff led by Manu Kahukoa. Parent volunteer chaperones and school staff also help make the event a success year after year. Photo by Walter Chihara.
