LAHAINA — To commemorate the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the public is invited to bring pets to a Blessing of Animals service at Lahaina United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 8.

The service will begin at 10 a.m. in front of the church. It will include singing, a liturgy for animals, a moment of silence for pets that have died, and a formal blessing of each animal present — all furry, feathered and amphibious family pets.
