Fair promoting child safety

By Staff | Sep 29, 2011

WAILUKU — The Maui Fair, in partnership with the Girl Scouts of Hawaii, asks parents to be proactive in ensuring the safety of their children by taking a few minutes to sign in at the Lost Keiki Tent at this year’s event.

Each child will receive a wristband in exchange for a parent or guardian’s cell phone number. If children get separated or lost, the Girl Scouts and their troop leaders will then know who to contact. In the meantime, children will be safe and in good care until the parent or guardian is located and can come pick him/her up.

The Lost Keiki Tent will be located in its usual place at the Kanaloa Street entrance.

The 89th Maui Fair will open with the traditional parade on Thursday, Sept. 29, and continue with rides, food, first-rate entertainment, contests and exhibits through the evening of Sunday, Oct. 2. Visit www.mauifair.com for information.
