KAANAPALI — Duke’s Beach House recognized Donna Keanini and Valerie Lambert as its “Educators of the Month” for April and May, respectively.
The restaurant’s program acknowledges individuals who demonstrate a commitment to the betterment of the community through education.
“We so appreciate the efforts of the educators in our community for the important role they play in shaping our keiki’s futures,” said Shaughn Helliar, general manager at Duke’s Beach House.
“We proudly recognize Keanini and Lambert for their dedication to the students at Princess Nahienaena Elementary.”
An office clerk, Keanini has been with Princess Nahienaena Elementary School for eight years. She enjoys meeting and working with the students, parents and staff.
One of the most rewarding aspects of her job is watching students advance from kindergarten to fifth grade.
Lambert, who has been working in education for 16 years, is a second grade Special Education teacher. She loves teaching, working with her students and learning about each of their talents, such as singing and dancing.
One of her most memorable experiences at the school was when the students sang a song for May Day.
Keanini and Lambert were each presented a $100 gift certificate to Duke’s Beach House.
