Lagbas to attend John A. Burns School of Medicine
LAHAINA — Lahainaluna High School Class of 2006 graduate Mychael Lagbas was recently accepted by the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, considered one of the top programs in the country.
A valedictorian and Magna Cum Laude graduate at LHS, Mychael, the son of Dianne and Barry Lagbas of Lahaina, went on to study at the University of Washington. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Bioengineering and Magna Cum Laude honors at the commemoration exercises in June 2010.
He then took the MCATS and applied to medical school.
The John A. Burns School of Medicine sent the Lagbas family an acceptance notice earlier this year.
“The whole family is so excited, and we are extremely proud of Mychael. We really need doctors in Hawaii and especially here on Maui,” said Dianne.
Mychael plans to study pediatrics or orthopedics at U.H.
