KAHULUI — “The Art of Trash, 2011,” presented by Community Work Program, will receive work from artists on Saturday, April 16, at Maui Mall.

Bring all pieces to the store space next to Genki Sushi from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entry fee is $10 per piece.

The annual exhibit showcases everyday objects that have been transformed and given new life. Maui County artists from Hana to Lahaina continue to change the way the community defines “reuse” by finding creative ways to keep recyclable items out of Maui’s landfill.

Entry forms are available at all public libraries or via communityworkday@gmail.com. For information, call Wilma at 573-3911. The opening of the exhibition will be on Saturday, April 22, at 7 p.m. at Maui Mall. Everyone is welcome.
