Meetings to focus on sanctuary management plan

KIHEI — The Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary will hold a two-day public meeting of the Sanctuary Advisory Council to focus on the sanctuary management plan review process and issue-based working groups.

The meetings are set for Monday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the sanctuary office at 726 S. Kihei Road.

An agenda is available on the sanctuary website at http://hawaiihumpbackwhale.noaa.gov. Any persons wishing to testify on agenda items are requested to submit a written copy of their testimony to the council coordinator by 10 a.m. on Friday, April 1.

The sanctuary is administered by a partnership of NOAA’s National Marine Sanctuary Program and the state Department of Land and Natural Resources.
