Luna Junior Prom set for Saturday
LAHAINA — The Lahainaluna High School Junior Promenade will be held Saturday, March 26, at the Sheraton Maui Hotel’s Maui Ballroom.
The formal evening event will include dinner, dancing and souvenir photo sessions.
The formal coronation ceremony is open to the public with limited standing room. Reserved seats are for special guests with tickets. Hotel parking is limited and non-validated; there will be no valet service for prom attendees.
Doors open at 5:45 p.m., and the ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m. Aloha or evening attire is requested.
The ceremony will commence with the coronation of Queen Kailani Amine and King Roven Malijana. Her majesty is the daughter of Steven and Charlaine Amine of Lahaina, and his majesty is the son of Roel and JeanJanet Malijana of Lahaina.
The princesses are Amanda Arakawa, Arvee Haduca, Brennalyn Nakamura, Jasmine Belkosky, Jasmine Garde, Jasmine Domingo, Josie Sanchez, Kanoelani Dodd, Kiara Galiciano and Kiana Yamat.
The princes are Armando Cardona, BJ Pagdilao-Bala, Bodean Bates, Chanse Uyeda, Ferdinand Magbual, Jarin Pasco-Cabanilla, Jeremy De Gracia, Joshua Galinato, Mark Ventura and Nicholas Vasquez-Stewart.
The prom theme, “A Moment Like This” by Kelly Clarkson, will set an ambiance for the room decor with its colors shades of purple with accents of silver, pearl white and black.
The court will dance to the prom song “Forever Ain’t Enough” by J Holiday, while their majesties will dance to “Never Knew I Needed” by Neyo.
Kailani Amine and Jasmine Belkosky are general co-chairpersons for the event. Jack Mora is junior class president. The class advisor is Kulani Akahi with assistance from Tracy Poouahi. Art Fillazar, student activities coordinator, is the director of the coronation ceremony and the prom court choreographer.
