LIS to offer math honors program
LAHAINA — In the next school year, Lahaina Intermediate School will offer a math honors program in the sixth grade.
Parents may nominate their fifth grade child by contacting their child’s teacher. A matrix for qualification has been created to match that of the higher grade level honors program.
Parents and teachers may nominate a child until Feb. 11. Consent letters will be issued upon receipt of the child’s nomination. Scoring of the matrix will follow. Letters of acceptance/denial will be issued thereafter. For information on the honors program, call Todd Hayase at 662-3965, extension 247.
