The directory, produced in partnership with the Aging with Aloha Coalition, promotes home- and community-based services.
The directory includes resource listings for clothing; employment; finances, including tax preparation assistance; food; housing, including
affordable housing, rental subsidies, assisted living facilities, foster care and nursing homes; transportation services; emergency preparedness; education and training programs; adult day care; caregiver relief programs; mental health services; legal services; health and medical services; support groups; and end-of-life services.
Rita Barreras, project director for the Aging with Aloha Coalition, noted that the directory has been recognized as a valuable tool.
“The coalition is receiving positive feedback from the public about how this resource directory is helping families find services for their kupuna and people with disabilities,” she said.
Funding was provided by the county with the assistance of its Office on Aging.
