Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise holding Christmas Tree Giveaway

By Staff | Nov 26, 2010

The Rotary Clubs of Hawaii, District 5000, last week announced that West Maui resident LiAnne Coon (above) has been selected to be one of four Rotary Group Study Exchange (GSE) team members of young professionals who will travel to Egypt, Cypress and Lebanon for four weeks. This exchange program is reciprocated on a district to district level internationally. In October 2010, Rotarians of District 5000 entertained and hosted the Egyptian GSE team for four weeks. Coon — who serves as sales, marketing and media manager for her family’s business, Trilogy — will give presentations to the Rotary Clubs of each country and meet young professionals in similar fields, primarily tourism. The all-expenses paid trip is sponsored by Rotary International.

LAHAINA — The Rotary elves have been very busy at Lahaina Cannery Mall selling fresh refrigerated Christmas trees.

They’re not too busy for the Lahaina community, however.

Santa has told his elves to give one tree to five families who can best answer the following: “Why our family would love a Christmas tree in our home!”

Draw a Christmas tree and write your answer inside. In the tree stump, write one thing Rotary does to make our community or world a better place.

To find answers, go to either www.lahainasunriserotary.org or www.rotaryinternational.org.

Mail your Christmas Tree Giveaway entry by Dec. 2 to Santa’s Rotary Elves, P.O. Box 913, Lahaina, HI 96761.

Winners will be contacted on Dec. 4, and their names will appear in the Lahaina News by the end of the year.

The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise sends aloha to all our ‘ohana near and far.
