Pacific Whale Foundation to celebrate 30th anniversary
MAALAEA — Pacific Whale Foundation members and supporters are invited to celebrate its 30th anniversary and kickoff the Maui Whale Festival with a weekend of family-friendly events Nov. 26-28.
“We are excited to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pacific Whale Foundation,” said Greg Kaufman, PWF founder and chief scientist.
“It is because of the support from our members and the community that we are able to continue our mission to promote appreciation, understanding and protection of whales, dolphins, coral reefs and our planet’s oceans. We want to use this weekend as a way to say thank you.”
The events include a Sustainable Seafood Dinner Cruise on Friday, Nov. 26, at 6 p.m. from Lahaina Harbor; Welcome Home the Whales Celebration Cruises on Saturday, Nov. 27, at 6:30, 9 and 11:30 a.m. out of Lahaina Harbor and 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. from Maalaea Harbor; Pacific Whale Foundation Open House and Ocean Store Sale Saturday from 12:30 to 4 p.m.; “Golf Fore The Whales” Golf Tournament and Family Fun Day on Sunday, Nov. 28, starting at 7 a.m. at the Makena North Course; and 30th Anniversary Celebration Luncheon at the Makena Ballroom at the Makena Beach and Golf Resort Sunday.
