Give ‘Toys for Tots’ and enjoy holiday events at Lahaina Gateway

By Staff | Nov 26, 2010

LAHAINA — Lahaina Gateway is proud to be hosting the U.S. Marine Corps’ program “Toys for Tots” with the Lahaina Salvation Army and Street Bikers United at the center during the holiday season, from Nov. 16 through Dec. 24.

This yearly program is a great way to show your holiday spirit and provide a gift for a child in need during the Christmas season.

Drop off a new, unwrapped toy at participating merchants at their giant gift box displays, and enter to win prizes in the Lahaina Gateway “Happy Hawaiian Holidays” contest.

There are great toys and gifts to buy at many of the stores to donate for the “Toys for Tots” holiday program, which will benefit the needy children of West Maui and Lanai.

Monetary donations to provide funds for the Lahaina Salvation Army’s Social Service Christmas Basket program will be also be accepted during the holidays at the Christmas Red Kettles located at Foodland Farms, OfficeMax and Barnes & Noble to help our neighbors in need this Christmas.

Participating stores will have envelopes available for check donations.

On Saturday, Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., celebrate the U.S. Marine Corps’ “Toys for Tots” Day! There will be drive-through drop-off locations with the U.S. Marines onsite collecting toys.

The event will feature Hawaiian and Christmas entertainment, merchant fashion shows, “Win a Holiday Outfit” contest, Christmas crafts for keiki, Maui made crafts for sale, holiday gift-wrapping stations, motorcycle club display and holiday contest drawings, plus special merchant sales throughout the center.
