Recycle paint and household items
PUUNENE — Community Work Day Program (CWD) will celebrate “America Recycles Day” with a Paint Exchange and “Freecycle It” event on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This no-cost exchange encourages community members to work together in the spirit of laulima to keep usable items out of the landfill. In addition to paint and household items, CWD offer free CFL light bulbs in exchange for incandescent bulbs as part of the ongoing Blue Planet Foundation CFL exchange program.
Usable paint and household items must be dropped off at CWD Headquarters by Friday, Nov. 12, at 4 p.m. Items will be offered for reuse at no cost during the Paint Exchange and “Freecycle It” Day on Nov. 13.
CWD is also accepting used campaign signs and banners to be reused for garage sales and other events.
Usable paint and campaign signs are accepted and recycled daily during regular business hours on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CFL light bulbs are available for exchange daily while supplies last. Call 877-2524 or e-mail info@cwdhawaii.org for information.
