By Staff | Nov 11, 2010

Lahaina Arts Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, will host a benefit for its Children’s Art Outreach Program under the Banyan Tree this weekend. A silent art auction and arts and crafts fair starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13. At 3 p.m. sharp, all bidding will be closed. At that time, there will be a flurry of giveaways from Maui’s generous restaurants and vendors. On Sunday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Lahaina Arts Society will celebrate its 43rd anniversary. This event will help support LAS’ free art classes for Maui keiki. Come down to the Banyan Tree and enjoy some cake! Both days, there will be free face painting and hands-on art for children, as well as music by Chapman Stick guru Michael Kollwitz.

LAHAINA — Visit the County of Maui’s “Join Hands” Fair to learn about volunteer opportunities in the community on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lahaina Cannery Mall.

Up to 18 organizations will be available to inform the public about how easy and rewarding it is to become a volunteer!

Volunteer during the holidays, learn new skills and give back to others.

The fair will also feature live music by Damien Awai and the Maui Children’s Peace Choir singing Christmas songs. Charlie Espina Takahama from Pacific Radio Group will serve as emcee.

The fair is sponsored by the county Department of Housing and Human Concerns, Volunteer Center, Tri-Isle RC&D, Gilbert & Associates and Lahaina Cannery Mall.
