Celebrate Arbor Day by planting trees

Volunteers will plant more than 1,000 trees mauka of Honolua Bay.

KAPALUA — In celebration of Arbor Day, Maui Land & Pineapple Company Inc. (ML&P) will launch its annual native reforestation program with a tree planting event on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Participants will plant native trees on the lands above Honolua Bay in an effort to help with ML&P’s conservation efforts.

More than 1,000 trees will be planted to help reestablish the native ecosystem in the area.

Each participant will receive a free native plant to take home.

Participants should register for the event; space is limited.
