LAHAINA — The “Gianna Mitchell Birthday Bash 4 The Luv of Art,” a benefit to celebrate the creative life of Gianna Marie Mitchell (June 5, 1978 – Nov. 1, 2009), will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, at Longhi’s in Lahaina.

All proceeds will be donated to the Lahaina Arts Association, which provides free weekly keiki art classes in Maui County (visit www.lahaina-arts.com), and Ebb & Flow Arts, which educates keiki and the general public with free school workshops and public performances in the musical arts (visit www.ebbandflowarts.org).

Both are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.

The evening will kick off at 8:30 p.m. with a silent art auction. Artists include members of Lahaina Arts Society, Wyland Galleries and independent local artists.    

A blessing will be held at 9:30 p.m., followed by live music by Marty Dread & Unifiers and special guest Ryan Palma.

Come dance, bring home local art to beautify your home and help local keiki have access to visual and musical arts.

The cover charge is $10 ($5 with an art supply donation; tempera paint is sought).
