DOT to discuss transit program
The state Department of Transportation (DOT) will hold public informational meetings to discuss and solicit comments on the Draft Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for Federal Fiscal Years 2011-14.
DOT encourages participation in these meetings, as comments received will help to guide the finalization of the STIP.
The STIP is a four-year programming implementation document that identifies state and county transportation projects to be funded, in part, with Federal Highway and Transit funds.
Meetings are set for May 24 at 6 p.m. in the King Kekaulike High School Cafeteria, May 25 at 6 p.m. in the Kihei Elementary School Cafeteria, May 26 at 6 p.m. in the West Maui Senior Center Cafeteria, and May 27 at 6 p.m. in the Highways Division Maui District Office Conference Room at 650 Palapala Drive in Kahului.
