Rename the ‘Tailgate’ contest on

By Staff | Feb 11, 2010

LAHAINA — The Lahainaluna High School Foundation is holding a contest to rename the annual “Tailgate” event that will be held in August.

“Tailgate” is the foundation’s signature event — a community mini-carnival — featuring food, entertainment and a keiki fun zone.

The event is followed by a LHS varsity football preseason game with ESPN’s Neil Everett providing the play-by-play.

Tailgate is also the foundation’s biggest awareness and fund-raising event benefiting the LHS stadium project, “Re-do the IMU!” This year’s game will be played on the newly installed artificial turf Athletic Field.

Entries must be received by Feb. 28; the winner will receive dinner for two at Hula Grill and a surprise V.I.P package for two at the newly named event.

Send your entry by e-mail to lhsfemail@yahoo.com or mail to Rename Tailgate Contest, LHSF, P.O. Box 11617, Lahaina, HI 96761.
