Maui Prep to hold ‘Paniolo Night’

By Staff | Jan 21, 2010

“The Plight of Gaza: An Eyewitness Account of How U.S. Policies are Causing Harm” is the topic of a talk on Friday, Jan. 22, at Maui Community College by Army Col. (Ret.) Ann Wright. The free, public event will be held at 7 p.m. in Maui Community College Ka Lama 103, sponsored by Maui Peace Action, the MCC Peace Club and Koa Books. Wright’s talk will report on how the United States’ “green-light” policy toward Israel jeopardizes both U.S. and Israeli national security. She will also speak about conditions of the 1.5 million Palestinian people living in the walled-off, 25- by 5-mile Gaza strip. For information on the event, call Mele Stokesberry at 878-8015.

NAPILI — Maui Preparatory Academy will host its fourth annual “Paniolo Night” on Saturday, Jan. 23, from 3 to 9 p.m. on its Napili campus grounds.

The benefit will feature a barbecue buffet of chicken, ribs, corn on the cob, baked beans, cole slaw, corn bread, homemade paniolo punch and dessert.

The afternoon will begin with games, face painting, hat decorating, food concessions, dunk tank, horseback riding and a petting zoo.
