MAPA dance and drama classes begin Jan. 18 on the West Side
KAHANA — In response to demand from West Side families for performing arts classes closer to home, Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA), in partnership with Kahana Partners 1 LLC and CB Richard Ellis, is proud to announce the grand opening of MAPA West, a dance and drama studio located in Kahana Gateway Shopping Center.
The first full semester of performing arts classes begins Monday, Jan. 18. Registration is now under way.
The classes in pre-ballet, jazz, hip hop, dance and tone, comedy improv and acting are geared for students ages three to adult and run weekdays after school and on Saturdays from Jan. 18 through May 21.
Taught by a team of professional teaching artists, the classes introduce students to the foundations of dance and acting while building self-confidence in a fun and safe learning environment. No previous performance experience is necessary.
Students registered in the dance classes will perform in MAPA’s annual Spring Extravaganza on May 22-23 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater.
Tuition for the 17-week spring semester is $260 for one-hour classes and $310 for classes running more than an hour.
