Holiday Home Tour benefits Planned Parenthood

By Staff | Nov 25, 2009

Planned Parenthood of Maui will hold its second annual Holiday Home Tour on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The annual event affords participants the opportunity to tour six beautiful Upcountry homes, including behind-the-scenes views of Chef Bev Gannon’s personal kitchen and artist George Allen’s studio and gallery.

Proceeds from the event will raise much-needed funds for Planned Parenthood’s educational outreach programs on Maui.

The outing will include a silent auction to include hotel stays, luaus, sunset sails and restaurant certificates. All ticket holders will also be eligible to win door prizes donated by local merchants and businesses. Iced tea and cookies, courtesy of Big Island Candies, will be served along the home tour route.

Advance tickets are $25; purchase four tickets and the fourth is free. Tickets are available by calling Kapalua Realty at 665-5454 or Take Home Maui in Lahaina. Kihei residents can call 879-9964, and Upcountry tickets are available by calling 572-0671. Tickets will be available on the day of the tour at Hali‘imaile General Store for $30 — the fourth ticket is free!

Tour participants should check in at Hali‘imaile General Store the day of the tour to secure maps and directions to the various homes. Gannon’s highly acclaimed restaurant, typically closed on Sundays, will be open by reservation serving brunch and lunch for this exclusive event. Menu options will include Lox and Bagel Platter, Salmon Benedict, Greek Omelet, Caramelized Onion Omelet, Kobe Hamburgers, Ahi Panzanella Salad and Rock Shrimp Crab Cake over Spinach Salad.

Stop in or call Hali‘imaile General Store at 572-2666 to make dining reservations and purchase tickets.
