Hospital to offer cancer screenings

WAILUKU — Maui Memorial Medical Center will provide free cancer screenings for the community on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, free breast and prostate screenings will be offered at the MMMC Oncology Outpatient Center located at the Wailuku Tower entrance at the rear of the hospital. Preregistration is required.

Clinical Labs of Hawaii is providing the PSAs for the prostate screenings, and several organizations will offer cancer awareness information, including American Cancer Society-Maui Chapter, Pacific Cancer Foundation and Hui No ke Ola Pono. Grand Wailea Resort and Spa will provide free refreshments.

Although there is no cost for the screenings, people may be advised to follow up with their physicians. Parking is available in several lots around the hospital. Reservations for the event may be made by calling Janelle Todd at 242-2401.
