Sunrise Rotary Club continues a noble cause
LAHAINA — Orders are now being taken by Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise members for fresh, top-of-the-line Christmas trees.
Sale proceeds will be used for community beautification and other projects, said President Charles Keoho.
“The six-foot noble firs we will be selling are considered one of the best evergreens and known for their sturdiness, long-lasting fragrance and ability to last throughout the Christmas season,” according to Keoho.
Trees can be ordered in advance for a pre-sale price of $60 until Nov. 15.
Customers will be able to pick up their trees Nov. 27-29 in the parking lot at Lahaina Cannery Mall from the same refrigerated container shipped from the Mainland to keep the trees fresh.
Fund-raising proceeds are used each year to purchase dictionaries for Lahaina grade school children, and for a new program that provides a new book (fiction or nonfiction) every week to one worthy student.
Tree tickets can be obtained from club members, Carlson Wagonlit Klahani Travel and Saltwater Signs, or by calling Juergen Will (661-3335) or Robyne and Jerry Downer (667-6712).
