West Maui Improvement Foundation (WMIF) on Aug. 4 received a $1,000 grant from Bank of Hawaii to cover administrative costs for its efforts to develop the West Maui Hospital and Medical Center Foundation. WMIF is a community-based 501-C-3 Public Charity that has supported and financed initial efforts to lay the groundwork for building a West Maui hospital. Follow the progress of the medical center at www.westmauihospital.org. Kevin Baptist, Bank of Hawaii senior vice president and Maui regional manager, presented the check to WMIF President Joseph D. Pluta.

LAHAINA — The Lahainaluna High School Foundation is selling Wiki Car Wash & Lube tickets throughout August.

Tickets are $8 each and valid until Aug. 28. The foundation will receive $3 from each ticket sold to benefit the LHS stadium project, “Redo the Imu!”
