CLUB TO COLLECT SLIPPERS

LAHAINA — The West Maui Lions Club will hold a Slipper Drive on Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of Longs Drugs at Lahaina Cannery Mall. 

“We appreciate your kokua in gathering new slippers for our keiki,” noted P. Denise La Costa, the club’s public relations chair.

CLASS OF ’69 PLANNING REUNION

WAILUKU — Saint Anthony High School’s Class of 1969 will celebrate its 40th class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 29. 

This group is the first coed graduating class of the private school in Wailuku.

The one-day event begins with a Memorial Mass at 5 p.m. at Saint Anthony Church.

The celebration continues at Cary & Eddie’s Hideaway in Kahului, commencing with no-host cocktails at 6:30 p.m., followed with a buffet dinner and an evening of music, dancing, fun and reminiscing.

Reservations are due Friday, July 24, through Madeline (Amoral) Pruse at 152 Maha Road, Makawao, HI 96768.

CORAL SPAWNING SPECTACLE SLATED

MAALAEA — Maui Ocean Center will host its Coral Spawning Spectacle from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on July 24.

This remarkable event takes place in the evening under light of a full moon and gives guests the chance to witness live coral spawning! Several exhibits throughout the park, including the Discovery Pool, Surge Zone, and Loko I‘a in Hawaiians and the Sea, will include rice coral and be illuminated with special red lights.

Guests may enjoy a cash bar and complimentary desserts and coffee while waiting for the spawning to begin. Admission is $27 for adults and $22 for children age 3-12. Call 270-7088.

FUKUSHIMA TO SHARE HEALTH TIPS
