Music festival includes workshops

By Staff | Jun 4, 2009

The 2009 Maui Invitational Music Festival offers classes, clinics and workshops open to musicians and vocalists of all ages, separated by skill levels.

Presented by the nonprofit Arts Education for Children Group, the festival was created in 2003 to provide opportunities for students to study and play alongside accomplished instructors.

This year’s class schedule begins with instruction in playing brass instruments, African musical traditions, and concert band workshops.

The festival continues through July 4 and includes concerts and workshops for Hawaiian steel guitar, hip hop and hot club. For a complete Maui Invitational Music Festival schedule, workshop applications and more information, visit www.aecg.org or call 283-3576.
