LAHAINA — Registration is under way for Theatre Theatre Maui’s summer performing arts program for Lahaina’s youth.

This summer’s production will be Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast (Jr.),” a classic fairy tale presented in special arrangement with Music Theatre International of New York. 

Program director this year is Ashlie Welte, joined by Music Director Vania Jerome.

The organization’s 17th summer program runs from June 15 through July 19. Participants should be available for the full five weeks. The first four weeks will consist of  workshops involving music, dance and drama to prepare for the musical, which will be presented at The Westin Maui Resort and Spa. The fifth and final week will be filled by rehearsals and performances at the hotel’s Haleakala Ballroom.

Registration forms are available at each West Side school and at the Theatre Theatre Maui office at the 505 Shops, Suite 220-B.

Enrollment is open to students entering grades four through 12. Tuition has been maintained at $300, discounted to $285 for cash payment by June 1.
