HONOLULU — Navian Hawaii employees recently constructed and shipped comfort kits to keiki impacted by the August wildfires on Maui. The kits were sponsored by a grant from the Maui Strong Fund of the Hawaii Community Foundation and designed by Pediatric Hospice team members Joline and Megan.

Each kit included a picture frame, tissues, journal, coloring/drawing supplies, slime, a sleep mask, stress ball, bubbles, and cards displaying coping skills and gentle stretching poses.

“Our hearts are with all of those who were affected by the fires on Maui,” said Navian Hawaii Interim President and CEO Ken Zeri. “Mahalo to the Maui Strong Fund of the Hawaii Community Foundation for this grant, which has allowed us to bring hope, reduce fears and impact lives in a new and meaningful way.”

Items were selected to bring children peace and comfort while providing them with various outlets for expression as they work through the unimaginable challenges and powerful emotions following the catastrophic event.
