Trilogy captain named Maui Tour Guide of the Year

The Sustainable Tourism Association of Hawaii honored Capt. Dani Kleinhenz of Trilogy Excursions as Maui’s Tour Guide of the Year.
LAHAINA – Trilogy Excursions last week announced that Capt. Dani Kleinhenz was named Maui’s Tour Guide of the Year by the Sustainable Tourism Association of Hawaii at its annual Sustainable Tourism Halawai on Nov. 6.
Each year, Sustainable Tourism of Hawaii honors tour guides who best embody the core assets of quality sustainable tourism, including effective interpretation, conservation of natural resources and authentic cultural experiences.
“I am honored to represent Trilogy as Maui’s Tour Guide of the Year,” Kleinhenz said.
“It’s a privilege to support STAH’s mission through our daily interactions with guests who join our excursions here on Maui.”
Capt. Dani regularly demonstrates her support and devotion to protecting Hawaii through education of sustainable practices for residents, businesses and visitors.
This year alone, she helped to install a weather station on top of Molokini Crater and led the charge as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) rapid response team helped to save nine pigmy killer whales that beached themselves in Kihei.
Capt. Kleinhenz regularly volunteers with a NOAA research vessel to help with whale research.
For over 20 years, the Sustainable Tourism Association of Hawaii has promoted sustainable tourism through innovative initiatives and programs aimed at protecting Hawaii’s natural and cultural resources.
Its mission is to protect Hawaii’s unique natural environment and host culture through the promotion of responsible travel and educational programs relating to sustainable tourism for residents, businesses and tourists.
