A Deloitte Consulting LLP principal, Schmid has more than 20 years of experience transforming Global Fortune 100 and startup companies to new 21st century technologies.

He has extensive experience delivering business value for clients through innovative solutions and effective partnerships in the areas of industrial innovation, the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile workforce, cloud computing, wearables, augmented reality and virtual reality, merger integration, complex integrations, enterprise resource planning implementations, digital supply networks, social media and outsourcing.

A new resident of Maui and self-described “pragmatically audacious executive,” Schmid is the co-host of the popular YouTube-live program “Coffee with Mr. IoT” on Fridays. The show features lively, interesting conversations with the builders, dreamers, the founders, the parents and the wild children of the IoT universe.

The frequent author and public speaker will talk story with Maui entrepreneurs at MEDB’s Malcolm Center on Nov. 21.

“Everything is getting connected! At this year’s CES (the leading conference for consumer technology), we saw connected kitchen appliances, fitness trackers, lights, doorbells, washers and dryers, cars, scooters, entertainment systems – everything,” he said.

Maui TechOhana meetings provide an informal networking opportunity open to anyone interested in Maui’s technology industry.

Events include a short presentation on a relevant topic in business or technology, followed by the opportunity to talk with others with similar professional interests.
