Lisa Paulson began her new role with Maui Health on Monday, Aug. 26.

WAILUKU – Maui Health System recently announced the appointment of Lisa Paulson as its new director of strategic communications. She will oversee all communications and marketing for the health care system’s three hospitals and two clinics in Maui County.

Paulson has spent more than 20 years driving strategic growth and visibility for some of Hawaii’s largest not-for-profit and for-profit organizations.

Before Maui Health, she led Maui Hotel and Lodging Association as executive director, setting state records year after year for surpassing fundraising goals in support of Maui County’s non-profits, including many that provide health resources to people in need.

She also served as marketing director for Queen Ka’ahumanu Center, where she completed two successful rebrand campaigns over the nine years that she led the organization.

Additionally, she worked as marketing manager for A&B Properties, and as Community Clinic of Maui’s development director.

Her dedication to supporting non-profits has provided her with both personal and professional opportunities to work closely with many essential community organizations, including Malama I Ke Ola Health Center, Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center, Maui Economic Development Board, Maui OnStage, Book Trust Maui, Maui Academy of Performing Arts and Maui Humane Society.

“I’m so excited to be able to continue my passion for caring for this community that I love so much,” said Paulson. “In the few short weeks I’ve been with Maui Health, I’ve already witnessed firsthand the incredible work being done in our organization. My goal is to make sure everyone, in Hawaii and beyond, sees it, too.”

Paulson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration/Music (Double Major) from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA, and obtained a Certification in Non-Profit Management from UCLA.

“The work Lisa has done for this community is impressive, to say the least,” said Michael Rembis, Maui Health CEO. “We’re excited to have such a seasoned communications executive on our team and especially one that is so well connected with the needs of our islands’ residents and visitors.”
