Chamber announces Hawaiian Airlines as title sponsor of Made in Maui County Festival
WAILUKU – The Maui Chamber of Commerce, supported by the County of Maui Office of Economic Development, announced that Hawaiian Airlines has signed a two-year title sponsorship of the annual Hawaiian Airlines Made in Maui County Festival. The two-day festival is Maui County’s largest products show, offering a springboard for local companies to take their business to the next level.
“For the past three years, Hawaiian Airlines has been an event sponsor of the festival,” said Pamela Tumpap, president of the Maui Chamber of Commerce. “Now, we’re thrilled to partner with Hawaiian Airlines as the title sponsor for the sixth and seventh annual Hawaiian Airlines Made In Maui County Festival. We look forward to strengthening the relationship that has already been built and taking this important event that benefits so many of our islands’ entrepreneurs to new heights.”
Held on the first Friday and Saturday of November at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului, the goal of this annual event is to showcase locally made products; grow independent businesses headquartered within the county (Maui, Molokai and Lanai); strengthen the community by encouraging job creation; and diversify the county’s economy.
“We’re committed to supporting local businesses and introducing our guests to the sights, sounds and flavors of Hawaii through products made right here in the islands,” said Robert Sorensen, vice president of marketing and E-commerce at Hawaiian Airlines.
Since the festival began in 2014, participating vendors have reported during this two-day event nearly $2.5 million in retail sales, over 165,900 items sold, over 1,120 new wholesale accounts secured and over 6,770 new leads established.
The sixth annual Hawaiian Airlines Made in Maui County Festival will be held on Nov. 1 and 2. This popular event will feature over 140 vendors offering hundreds of made in Maui County products, including food, art, crafts, jewelry, fashion, furniture, gifts, collectibles and more.
The festival will also feature a special Buyers Preview for wholesale buyers/distributors, live entertainment, fashion shows, food trucks and prize drawings. Attendees can also enter to win 250,000 HawaiianMiles.
