Hawaii State FCU doubles scholarship funding to $80,000

HONOLULU – Hawaii State Federal Credit Union has issued a call for scholarship applicants for its Lowell Kalapa Scholarship Program for the 2019-20 school year.

Doubling its scholarship grant funding from $40,000 in 2018, Hawaii State FCU will award $80,000 to 20 deserving Hawaii students planning to attend a fully accredited university, college or trade/vocational school. Each student will be awarded $4,000. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2019.

“Investing in Hawaii’s youth and helping our keiki succeed are a priority for Hawaii State FCU, because it sets children on the trajectory for future academic and professional success,” said Andrew Rosen, president and CEO of Hawaii State FCU. “That is why we’re proud to double our scholarship grant funding for the second consecutive year and give students the opportunity to achieve their higher education goals.”
