Employers sought for Ka Lima O Maui’s seventh annual Job Fair
WAILUKU – Ka Lima O Maui’s seventh annual Job Fair for persons with disabilities will take place on Thursday, Oct. 18, at Wailuku Community Center from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The fair is open to all abilities.
Ka Lima O Maui’s goal is to have 30 to 35 employers present at the event.
Last year, there were over 250 job seekers. To reserve a spot, call 244-5502.
Held each October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month is a time to celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.
The theme for this year is: “America’s Workforce: Empowering All.”
To encourage job seekers to attend, there will be a chance to win a $100 gift card (donated by Sears) as well as other raffle prizes.
Ka Lima O Maui will have a public address system available and will visit employers willing to discuss a little about their company and job opportunities that are available.
With last month’s reported unemployment rate for Maui at 2.6 percent, finding qualified candidates may be an issue, the organization noted.
Ka Lima O Maui’s goal is to help businesses find valuable employees along with a great networking opportunity.
