KAHULUI – Five loyal members of Maui Federal Credit Union selected at random drawing were awarded $1,000 scholarships to help them pursue higher education, Maui FCU CEO and President Clayton Fuchigami announced.

The awardees are Micah Jio, who is pursuing Pre-Medical Imaging Technology courses at the Oregon Institute of Technology; Kiley Pazcoguin, who is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies from Saint Martin’s University in Washington State; Taylor Pazcoguin, who is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Pacific University in Oregon; Jaymar Quedding, who is pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science; and Lisa Whitten, who is pursuing a Doctor of Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum & Teaching/Special Education from an online course from Liberty University based in Virginia.

Qualified applicants for the scholarship program, which includes this year’s recipients, are primary members of Maui FCU in good standing for at least one year.

They submitted an application form, an essay or video, along with their acceptance letter to the college of their choice.

“As a credit union, the scholarship program is another way that we give back to our membership,” Fuchigami said.

“We are proud to be part of our scholars’ educational journey, and we will continue to serve them at every milestone of their careers.”

Maui FCU has been serving Maui families for more than 80 years.
