Event to showcase students’ STEM skills
KAHULUI – Middle and high school students from various schools on Maui will converge at the University of Hawaii Maui College to compete at the eighth Maui Regional Science Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 10.
The participating schools are Carden Academy, H.P. Baldwin High School, King Kekaulike High School, Lahainaluna High School, Maui Preparatory Academy, Seabury Hall and St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School.
The students will compete in various fields of science, such as anatomy and physiology, astronomy, ecology, and rocks and minerals.
In engineering, Towers Building and Helicopters are open to the public.
Event competition starts at 8:30 a.m. The winners in each event will be awarded during the closing ceremony at 2:30 p.m.
The top two winners in each middle and high school division will advance to the State Finals on March 3 at Mililani High School on Oahu.
