Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner opens new Lahaina office
LAHAINA – Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Sharilyn Butteling has a new office right next door to Malama I Ke Ola Health Center at the Lahaina Resource Center.
She has been working for Aloha House/Maui Counseling Group for the past ten years and Maui Memorial Medical Center for seven years prior to that.
Butteling is trained in diagnosing, treatment plans, medication management, therapy and how to live a holistic lifestyle. Specialties include anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders and schizophrenia.
Offering full prescription authority, she will have access to gene testing (by swab) to see what medications to avoid and to see what psychotropic medications will work best for the client.
Butteling takes patients from six years old up to 80-plus, depending on the complexity of their physical health. Located at 15 Ipu Aumakua Lane, office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (and can be flexible if needed). She works out of Aloha House’s main office in Wailuku on Tuesdays.
“If you would like to come in for a psychiatric evaluation, or if you know of someone who may benefit from a mental health evaluation and want to stay in Lahaina, they may call our office Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at (808) 242-1660,” she explained.
The new business takes most insurance plans; patients can call the office regarding insurance questions. “I look forward to working with you,” she said.
